ROTC cadets are primarily responsible for the lovely garden area in front of our courthouse. Under the supervision of and with the help of the Iris Garden Club and its members, Julia Hanway of MicroType Graphics, and

Captain Ron Huddleston and Lt. Mike Stewart, the ROTC cadets planted this entire area.

Captain Ron Huddleston and Lt. Mike Stewart are the NJROTC leaders from Wakulla High School. They continue to promote service to our county to their cadets. You will see NJROTC cadets doing all kinds of service projects almost every school week of the year. Besides doing most of the work in planting the courthouse garden, cadets come out every 3 months to do major maintenance on the garden. This includes weeding, clipping, replanting, mulching, and trimming.

The NJROTC cadets also clean 4 miles of Rehwinkel Road every 6 weeks during the school year. They participate in the Great American Cleanup (March, April & May) and in the Coastal Cleanup on the 3rd Saturday in September every year.
